Essential Qualifications:
(i) MBBS Degree recognized by MCI
Or
1st class M.Sc. in Pharmacology / MS (Pharma) in Pharmacology and Toxicology/ M. Pharma (Pharmacology) or equivalent degree from a recognized University.
Or
2nd Class M.Sc. in Pharmacology/ 2nd Class MS (Pharma) in Pharmacology and Toxicology/ 2nd Class M. Pharma (Pharmacology) + Ph. D. Degree in the above subjects from a recognized University.

(ii) Eight years R&D experience in relevant area in recognized institute(s) after obtaining essential qualification (i) out of which at least 2 years in a managerial position to handle R&D projects in a team effectively in a directing capacity.

Age Limit: Not exceeding 45 years. Relaxable up to 5 years for Government Servants and SC/ST/OBC candidates in accordance with the instructions issued by the Department of Personnel and Training from time to time in this regard. However, the prescribed age may be further relaxed in exceptional cases for experienced and qualified candidates.

Service Conditions:

(1) Pay Band -3 Rs.15600-39100 + Rs. 7600 (Grade Pay)
(2) Allowances as per Central Government Rules are admissible on the above pay scale.
(3) Benefits of new restructured defined contributory pension system are admissible as per the provision contained in the Ministry of Finance, Department of Economic Affairs (ECD & PR Division), Notification No. 05/07/2003-ECD & PR dated: 22.12.2003 & effective from 1.1.2004.

NOTE: 1) MD/ Ph. D degree in subjects relevant to Indian Council of Medical Research shall be treated equivalent to three years experience. 2) Candidates with MD/ Ph. D degree will be preferred for direct recruitment. 3) If no suitable candidate is found at Scientist ‘D’ level, the post can be filled up at lower lever i.e. Scientist ‘C’. 4) Since it is not possible to call all the eligible candidates for the interview/ personal discussion, the applicants will be short-listed for this purpose. For avoidance of doubt, it is hereby clarified that:
1. If Class or Division is not declared at the Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree levels, an aggregate of >=60% or equivalent Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) is to be considered as equivalent to First Class.
2. In respect of CGPA awarded to the candidates on a 10-Point Scale, the Table of equivalence shall be provided by the university concerned followed for determining the Class obtained by them as per (1) cited above.
