Educational Qualifications: M.Sc. in Plant Physiology/Biochemistry/ Botany/Molecular Biology/Biotechnology/Environmental Science with two years research experience.

Desirable: Practical knowledge of techniques in Molecular Biology, Physiology and Biochemistry.

Walk-in-interview -> held on 08/08/2014 at 10 AM held in the Committee Room no. 218 of Division of Plant Physiology, Indian Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi-l10012. Candidates must report to PI Dr. V. P. Manipal University invites applications for the positions of Junior Research Fellow in Manipal University

Manipal University invites applications for the positions (2) of Junior Research Fellow for the following funded projects at School of Regenerative Medicine, Bangalore.

Post: Junior Research Fellow

1. Project title: “Proof-of-principle studies to understand the pleiotropic effect of alcohol on in-vitro neural development using key reference points”
* Duration of the Project: 2 years/ 24 months
* Qualification: M.Sc. in Biotechnology/Life Sciences of relevant stream with experience in mammalian tissue culture, cell and molecular biology
* Tenure of appointment: One year. Extendable based on the performance of the candidate
* Remuneration: Rs. 16,000 + 30% HRA per month 2. Project title: “Identification and characterization of molecular switch (s) that regulate (s) stem cell commitment towards specific lung cell type: Assessing the role of small molecules in stem cell differentiation”
* Duration of the Project: 3 years/36 months
* Qualification: M.Sc. in Biotechnology/Life Sciences of relevant stream with experience in mammalian tissue culture, cell and molecular biology
* Tenure of appointment: Six months. Extendable based on the performance of the candidate
* Remuneration: Rs. 16,000 per month

Desired criteria:
* Knowledge and experience in pluripotent stem cells, microarray analysis, next generation sequencing techniques and in vitro knock down studies.
* Poster presented in international / national conferences or original research publications in peer reviewed journals.
